In this connection it must be remmbored that as the result of sccepting 35% as the Britiah ahure of the Shaklung Traffic we shall actually receive (am regards 3rd. class passen, ers) 31.5 cents for procisely the same service for which we obtain 43.75 cents in the case of Canton traffic. We are thus surrending 257 of our legitiuate earn- -ings as a rebate for the Sheklung Traffic to the Chinese Section.
